Illustration and literature have a close relationship with one another. These mesmerising artworks emerge from literary works, reflecting and resonating with each other.

With the publication of the illustration collection As Light As Shadow II, the exhibition showcases King Ban Hui’s illustration works from 2018 to 2024, presented as hand-drawn originals. King Ban Hui is a Malaysian-Chinese writer and artist, whose illustrations are often featured in newspapers, magazines and book covers in Taiwan and Malaysia.

As with his written works, these illustrations are imbued with a distinct personal style, teeming with narratives and surreal imagination.
