Description
What does Penang look like through the eyes of an artist? What colours are the familiar sights and sounds when rendered onto canvas?
Join artist Nigel Sense on his artistic journey and step into a world shaped by his experiences as an Australian navigating the cultural landscape of Penang.
Set against the backdrop of a local kopitiam in Pulau Tikus, you are invited to witness the transformation of everyday experiences into vibrant canvases echoing the pulse of urban life. From decorative wall tiles to the aroma of strong black coffee, the canvases unfold as personal diaries.
The pieces capture overheard conversations, the artist’s imperfect attempts at speaking Malay, and the bustling atmosphere of crowds at breakfast spots. Every stroke of the brush, every splash of vibrant colour, is a celebration of the eclectic tapestry that defines Penang.
