Description
Shadows are temporary, fleeting creatures that come and go with the sun, while sculptures typically stand the test of time.
Shadow Sculptures invites you to become aware of the colours, textures, tones, shapes and forms you are drawn towards in nature.
The titular shadow sculptures are ephemeral. They are nature-based immersive and participatory artworks created in various locations by you. Cast your shadow upon the landscape, and fill the shadows with nature’s treasures—leaves, sticks, stones, flowers and more.
The works are theatrical, performative, and contemplative. As shadow makers you will let go of the preconceived ideas of where and how our treasures can be placed, to make way for harmonious collaboration with nature and the other.
Open yourself up to the deep ecology of the sensuous world we are a part of, and let nature be your art materials and canvas.
