Watch the Town Hall glow at “TERANG”, a stunning projection mapping showcase by Filamen, featuring works from this year’s competition themed “Rojak”. At Municipal Fountain Park, be mesmerised by “Starry Night”, a glowing diabolo dance by Diabolution, and feel the emotional pull of “Transmute: Dengung Masih Dalam Sepi”, a powerful dance-music performance exploring silence and reflection by Muhd Sharul Mohd (performer and choreographer) and NAMIE.

Don’t miss “Rhythms & Roots”—a music collaboration between Penang’s Culture Shot and Sabah’s Straw 林水草, blending Southeast Asian folk with contemporary sounds in a soulful celebration of identity and home.

Over at the Esplanade, shop, snack, and soak up the atmosphere at “A Market Under a Starry Night”. This vibrant night market—curated by Moondiri Market and Kung Bros Collectors Market—is your go-to for vintage gems, handmade treasures, and local eats.

And for something truly unforgettable, hop on “Between Departures”—a city bus turned pop-up concert stage! Scheduled across two weekends of George Town Festival—on 2, 3, 9 & 10 August—the bus will depart from Jalan Padang Kota Lama and cruise through Beach Street at 5pm, 6pm, 8pm and 9pm each day, where you can cruise through George Town with live acoustic sets by the Sundal Malam Ensemble and 1Drum on board.
